Here are 3 EFFECTIVE TIPS to stay calm and centred, and release stress when you are having a challenging day.

It is easy to stay calm and focussed, and more importantly high-vibing and happy, when you use techniques that engage your energy.

After all, you are an energetic being and your world around you is made up of energy. So when you tap into that energy and raise the frequency you can change stress into calm, irritation into peace, and challenges into opportunities.

1. HEART COHERENCE

When you become aware you are feeling overwhelmed, you have the ability to hack your nervous system and almost instantly calm it down.
This technique has been researched by the HeartMath Institute and has many studies proving it’s efficacy.

Stop for ONE MINUTE (two if you have time) to practice heart coherence.

Close your eyes, slow down your breathing and imagine your breath is coming in and out of your heart space. (put your hand on your heart to help you focus on the right spot) and just breathe in and out of your heart.

Then find a strong feeling of love, joy or appreciation. It could be for a person, a pet or special place in nature, it doesn’t matter what, as long as you find a loving feeling.

Allow this love to radiate around your heart, and then spread it out to your whole body.

Stay in this loving feeling for a minute or two.

On a physiological level, by breathing through your heart, your brain and nervous system fall into rhythm with your heart creating calm. This is called coherence and is important for being able to think clearer and make better decisions.

This coherent state has been shown to kick in and start releasing stress within 30 seconds of breathing through your heart, and 10 minutes has the same positive effects on the body as a 2 hour meditation!!

One to two minutes is all you need to kick start the positive calming effects, but if you have time to stay in this high-vibe state for longer, it’s worth knowing that ten minutes in this state begins to positively impact and boost your immune system. So every extra minute you spend in a heart coherent state is doing you a world good, inside and out!

So fill up the kettle and practice heart coherence while it boils!
(And then enjoy a zen cuppa!)

2.
“Life happens FOR you, not TO you!

Remember this!?

Our brains are naturally wired to look for the negative. With a little re-focussing our thoughts, we can break those negative neural pathways and re-wire new ones to look to the positive in every challenge.

Remembering this phrase can help to rewire your brain to trust that there is a reason for this challenge, even if you can’t see it yet.

Reframing to this positive mindset will get your brain actively looking for the good in each situation, and that’s when magic happens and often things “just magically work out” for you – it all starts by having that positive frame of mind.

3. GROUND YO’SELF!

Nature has immense power!

Get out into the grass, sand or water, (preferably bare feet), and ask Mother Nature to dissolve your stress and worries. Imagine them flowing all through your body, out through the soles of your feet, like tree roots, and dissolving in the love of the planet.

If you are not near any nature, holding a house plant will help you connect to nature, because each living plant has a sacred connection to the entire animal and vegetable kingdom, connecting you to the very essence of our living planet.

If you don’t have a house plant handy, simply imagine tree roots coming out of your feet and burying down into the ground and enjoy the support of Mother Earth that way.

There is always a way?

Practicing these tips every day can even reduce stress, and will build new healthier neural connections, rewiring your brain and body to naturally feel more at ease and centred. Enjoy!
